Meet Deanna Jewell

Deanna Jewell, AAP, Manager, Audit Services, is one of the newest additions to the EPCOR team.

Deanna began her career in the financial services industry in 2003 as a bank teller. Throughout the years, Deanna has held numerous roles within the industry, including Teller, New Account Specialist, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Assistant (finance and accounting), Operations Specialist, Treasury Management and Deposit Compliance Specialist with a focus on risk management, deposit compliance and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). During her banking career, Deanna obtained the Bank Operations Diploma through Kentucky Bankers Association.

When asked about what she’s most excited about in her new position, Deanna shared: “Having worked in banking for 18 years, and being a point person for audits, I’m now excited to be on the other side. I’m able to use my love for compliance along with my knowledge and experience as a payments professional to assist our members in improving their payment operations.”

Deanna is very excited to be joining the EPCOR family and explained, “EPCOR has played a very integral part in my professional career. I was an active member within the financial institutions I worked for previously. The access to EPCOR resources from the annual Rules book, to seminars or educational opportunities like Payment Systems Update, the AAP Prep Program, Industry Updates, on-demand courses or publications found in the Electronic Resource License, and having live support from Members Services either by phone or chat, I always felt valued and supported by the EPCOR team. In my eyes and experiences, they were the payments celebrities. I’m excited I joined the rockstar team and get to help our members.”

When asked if she had any notable experiences to share, Deanna shared a moment that was very impactful, saying: “My most memorable moment was when I was traveling on a school trip to Europe in June 2019. Attending the 75th Anniversary of D-Day ceremony on the Beaches of Normandy (Omaha and Utah) and being in the presence of WWII Veterans and their families. Listening to the stories of courage and sacrifice of the men still alive, and of the heroes buried in the cemetery as we walked on hallowed ground. I am forever grateful and thankful for these soldiers. Blessed to have had the opportunity to experience this with my family.”

On a personal level, Deanna has been married to her high school sweetheart for 17 years. Together, they have two children, a son who is a freshman in college and a daughter who is a freshman in high school. She shared, “They keep us busy either on the soccer field or dancing and twirling flags, rifles and sabres in competitive Colorguard. If we’re not attending an extracurricular activity, you can catch us traveling locally, domestically or internationally. We love to sightsee, learn and experience new things together.”

We’re so excited to have you on the team, Deanna! Welcome to the family.
